Mid-American Pilots Association
Mid-American Pilots Association is a collaboration of individuals sharing their passion for all things aviation.
MAPA is one of the most active groups in the Midwest. A member of the Experimental Aviation Association, MAPA holds regular fly ins, entertaining visitors with their cooking, organization and sincere interest in promoting aviation to everyone, whether you’re interested in becoming a pilot for the first time, want to renew your license or know somebody who might be interested in getting their wings. The group sponsors the Judge Ryan Scholarship for aspiring pilots, has an instructor among the list of MAPA pilots and offers access to two club planes at discounted rates.

Wabash Valley Soaring Club
Flying over beautiful Wabash River valley for over 45 years, Wabash Valley Soaring Association is an educational soaring club dedicated to helping others learn the art and skills of soaring safely. The club owns a fleet of six gliders, three of which are two place trainers as well as two tow planes. There are also over 25 private sailplanes based at the Mid-American Air Center. The club has two hangars with a clubroom attached to the main hangar, and a climate-controlled shop for maintaining the club fleet. The shop is used also for restoration of member projects.
We fly mainly on weekends, weather permitting, from March through November. Weekday flying is often possible as well. WVSA is a chapter of the Soaring Society of America. Many WVSA members are involved with the Vintage Sailplane Association and are active in the restoration and flying of older gliders and sailplanes.
Over a long Father’s Day weekend, WVSA hosts the annual Midwest Vintage/Classic Sailplane Regatta. Many pilots bring vintage and classic gliders from all over the country for this annual event.

SCCA
The Southern Indiana Region of the Sports Car Club of America is a regular visitor to Mid-American Air Center, where the club makes roughly a dozen appearances to hold Autocross events on the airport pavement. It’s a great place to enjoy sports cars, whether you’re competing, would like to compete or just want to watch cars zoom around the course on a timed lap.
